Meet The Team: Ivy Kodjovi, VP People

What do you do at Genflow?
My role is VP of People, traditionally called VP of 'Human Resources'. The role of VP People has many great layers to it, in summary I am responsible for building a diverse high performance and expert global team with a client success culture. That's everything from the attraction of new people to Genflow, the retention of people, the development of our people and partnering with our teams to create a culture that is inclusive. There's also the employment law legislative elements and acting on what's happening in the World which influences the workplace and flexing a modern approach to People & Culture.

What were you doing prior to Genflow?
I was working at the Kering Group & Stella McCartney Limited for 7 years and prior to that within Recruitment. My more recent roles evolved from being focused on hiring across Retail and HQ positions, to a 360 People & Culture role business partnering which led to more focus on Diversity & Inclusion.

Describe your role in 3 words?
Unpredictable, empathetic and courageous.

The highlight of your time at Genflow so far?
I have been at Genflow for three months now, so I am still a 'newbie' but a lot of time has been dedicated to observing, meeting with our teams and leaders to create resources and design a People Strategy that is fitting for the Genflow way. A fave moment was Genflow Day (Summer party and new office reveal combo) where I had the opportunity to meet a lot of the team in the flesh.

Advice for someone who's looking for a job right now?
To be intentional with the role that you are applying for, a lot of people believe that when they go to an interview it's all about needing to impress the Company. Although it's so important for the applicant to also "interview" the Company to make sure it's going to be right for them. Where you work most of the time impacts your personal life. If you do not feel a sense of purpose or have limited love for where you work, it will just feel like a job you go to, but it's important to establish a career.
